EXCITED for SPRING

Spring is just around the corner. I love spring! It is my favorite time of year. I love spring garden's best. The colors are so crisp.

Everything looks so clean and new. It is a renewing of life and so inspiring. These spring pictures are of my garden a couple of years ago.

A vole (not a mole) got in there last year and ate most of them. So I will be planting new ones this year. :)




Things look a little bare without the leaves on the trees.
My yard gets so shady in the summer now that I have to plant mostly shade plants--which I LOVE!

That might seem like a challenge for some, but shade plants are some of my favorites. And I will be starting my seeds in just a couple of weeks. I hope you will join me for that. It is a fun process and is not as hard as you might think.




My boys helped me and my husband build the pond. We have some Koi and fan tail gold fish in it. It has been so enjoyable and has been pretty easy to maintain.






This is a smaller pond and waterfall on the lower part of our backyard. That was a lot of work to do!
But it turned out awesome and we so enjoy the trickling water fall in the summer as we sit out on the deck and eat breakfast or dinner. You can see the patio to the far right. I will have to tell you how we made that! Another clever project that only cost us  $65.00! Yes, it is true! We have done all the work in our yard ourselves on a very tight budget. But it was all well worth it. And we love it!
